Transcript

Private investigations are inquiries or examinations for the purpose of collecting evidence, but without the opposing party\’s participation.

For example, you may look into an apart an opposing party\’s social media profiles to get evidence for your case, particularly if it\’s publicly available, like Instagram or Twitter.

If it\’s not publicly available, privacy issues may arise later, but what\’s important is that the imposing party is not involved in your collection of evidence.

They are not producing, any documents. They are not, answering any questions. You\’re getting this information on your own.

Other online and public documents, may also be sources for private investigation, like tax records, or property assessment records. Even other court records.

Again, you\’ll use a combination of all of these discovery instruments to collect the evidence you need to prove or disprove the material facts in your case.
